Overview

• Palmer used a stolen van to smash into Bestwood Hill Food and Wine on October 21, 2023, stealing nearly £8,000 in cigarettes and alcohol plus £3,239 in cash.
• During the raid, his bag split and he resorted to an in-store shopping basket to carry off the pilfered goods.
• He remained at large for 17 days then on November 7, 2023, executed five burglaries and one attempted break-in before his arrest in Bestwood.
• At Nottingham Crown Court on June 6, 2025, Palmer was sentenced to seven years in prison with a five-and-a-half-year driving ban following his guilty pleas to eight burglaries, aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving offenses.
• Detective Inspector Julian Eminson-Ferry warned that ploughing through street furniture and near misses with pedestrians underscored Palmer’s danger to public safety.
