Kayleen Walters Named New Head of Minecraft Studio Mojang

Åsa Bredin steps down to pursue personal goals, with Walters assuming leadership while continuing her role at Microsoft Gaming.

Kayleen Walters, Microsoft Gaming's VP and head of franchise development, has been appointed as the new head of Mojang Studios, effective immediately.
Outgoing studio head Åsa Bredin will assist in the transition until the end of February before leaving to focus on personal goals outside of work.
Walters will split her time between Mojang's Stockholm headquarters and Microsoft's Redmond offices, maintaining her responsibilities at Microsoft Gaming.
Amy Stillion, Microsoft's content and studios head, will join Mojang's leadership team to oversee the People Experience team in Redmond.
The leadership changes come as Mojang prepares for the April release of the Warner Bros.-produced ‘Minecraft Movie.’
