Overview
- Off-Brand Opera will present the production at Theatre at St. Jean’s Off-Broadway from January 15 to 25, 2026.
- George Abud will adapt and direct the show while starring as Macheath, with Katrina Lenk playing Pirate Jenny.
- The adaptation is set against a New York City mayoral inauguration and foregrounds immigration abuse and class conflict.
- Additional casting includes Barbara Walsh as Polly Peachum, Paula Gaudier as Pam/Young Polly, Mahira Kakkar as Tiger Brown, and Aline Salloum as Mrs. Peachum, with creative credits to Jake Landau (new orchestrations and additional lyrics), Brianna Mercado (choreography), and Raul Luna (costumes).
- Abud will also direct Off-Brand Opera’s Fanny: A Fantasy in G, scheduled to run March 26 through April 19, 2026.
