Kathua Police Bust Pakistan-Linked Drone Drug Syndicate, Arrest Four

Police say proceeds were sent to Pakistan via hawala, with investigators pursuing further suspects.

Overview

  • An alert about a July 29 drone drop near Chhan Tanda in the Hiranagar sector led police and the BSF to recover about 447 grams of opium.
  • Two alleged couriers, Sukhwinder Singh and Arshdeep Singh (alias Raja), both working on an NHAI project in Samba, were arrested and found with 411 grams of heroin.
  • Investigators arrested local receiver Feroz Din (alias Allu) from Rajbagh, Kathua, and later a Tarn Taran, Punjab–based kingpin and financier whose identity police withheld.
  • Heroin and cash were seized from the trafficker and the suspected financier, and officers allege drug proceeds were routed to Pakistan through hawala channels.
  • FIR 107/25 was registered at Hiranagar police station under sections 8/18/19 of the NDPS Act and section 13 of the UAPA, as police also reported a separate Nagri-Kathua case with five peddlers held and 20 grams of heroin recovered.
