Katherine Legge to Race in NASCAR Cup Series for First Time Since 2018

The 44-year-old British driver will compete in the Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway, marking a historic return for women in NASCAR's top series.

Katherine Legge will drive the No. 78 Chevrolet for Live Fast Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series race on March 9, 2025, at Phoenix Raceway.
She becomes the first woman to compete in a NASCAR Cup Series race since Danica Patrick's appearance at the 2018 Daytona 500.
Legge has prior experience in various racing disciplines, including five NASCAR Xfinity Series starts and four Indianapolis 500 appearances, where she set a record for fastest female qualifying time in 2023.
She also has a strong record in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, with four wins and a second-place finish in the 2018 series standings.
While relatively new to stock car racing, Legge's diverse motorsport background underscores her qualifications for competing at NASCAR's highest level.
