Overview

  • The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood has funded Happy Little Minds to place mental health practitioners in two London nurseries supporting babies and families.
  • Barnardo’s and Place2Be will collaborate on the pilot, offering bespoke training and ongoing consultation to nearly 50 nursery staff.
  • The programme is designed to reach about 150 children and their families with direct support and parental guidance on social and emotional development.
  • Training will draw on the Shaping Us Framework to reinforce foundational social and emotional skills in early years settings.
  • Launched during Infant Mental Health Awareness Week, the pilot builds on earlier Alarm Distress Baby Scale trials to create a model for wider adoption.
