Kate Bush Named Record Store Day 2024 Ambassador

The iconic singer-songwriter will celebrate the resurgence of vinyl and independent record shops on April 20.

Kate Bush has been appointed as the ambassador for Record Store Day 2024, taking place on April 20, to champion independent record shops and the vinyl revival.
The event will feature special releases from artists like David Bowie, The 1975, and Gorillaz, highlighting the ongoing resurgence of vinyl, which has seen sales hit a 33-year high in the UK.
Bush will release a special 10-inch vinyl of 'Eat The Music' from her 1993 album 'The Red Shoes', featuring original artwork printed directly onto the disc.
Despite not releasing new music since 2011, Bush experienced a resurgence in popularity following the use of her song 'Running Up That Hill' in the show 'Stranger Things', leading to her first top 10 hit in the US 38 years after its release.
Record Store Day, supported by BBC 6 Music, aims to foster a deeper connection between artists and their audience through the unique listening experience and artwork of vinyl albums.
