Overview

• Since its first ride on October 3, 2024, the initiative has logged more than 50 trips and over 1,300 on-board discussions.
• Trained volunteers host weekly moderated dialogues in a dedicated trailer on tram line 1, open to any passenger with a valid ticket.
• About 80 residents completed facilitator workshops, with roughly 30 serving regularly as active discussion leaders.
• Founded by the civil group Platz nehmen für Demokratie in cooperation with the Kassel transport operator KVG and the city, the project won third place in Evangelische Bank’s 2025 Sustainability Prize.
