Overview

  • Phase 1 of the Kasarvadavli Flyover opened on July 8, 2025, easing long-standing congestion on Ghodbunder Road and shortening travel between Waghbil and Gaimukh.
  • The structure features a two-lane, 7.5-metre-wide overpass, a 2×2-lane underpass and a 721-metre ramp engineered for up to 73,333 passenger car units.
  • Engineered for seamless transfers, the flyover aligns with the future Metro Line 4 corridor from Wadala to Gaimukh to enable multimodal connectivity.
  • Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik inaugurated the project under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s direction as part of a governance drive to accelerate regional links.
  • Construction of Phase 2 is already underway and is scheduled to integrate with Metro Line 4’s timeline to extend congestion relief across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
