Karnataka Renames Schools and University After Maharishi Valmiki

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announces the renaming initiative to honor the legendary poet on Valmiki Jayanti.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declared that all government residential schools in the state will now be known as Maharishi Valmiki Residential Schools.
Raichur University will also be renamed Maharishi Valmiki University as part of the initiative.
The announcement was made on Valmiki Jayanti, celebrating the birth anniversary of the poet who authored the epic Ramayana.
Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP for not doing enough to promote equality for minority communities, highlighting his government's efforts in this area.
The Chief Minister emphasized the implementation of five guarantee schemes aimed at empowering economically weaker sections, fulfilling a promise made during the elections.
