Karnataka Police Seize ₹75 Crore Worth of MDMA in Record Drug Bust

Mangaluru police arrested two South African nationals, uncovering an international drug syndicate linked to air routes between Delhi and Bengaluru.

  • Mangaluru police conducted Karnataka's largest-ever drug bust, seizing 37.87 kg of MDMA valued at ₹75 crore.
  • Two South African nationals, Bamba Fant (31) and Abigail Adonis (30), were arrested in Bengaluru's Neeladri Nagar area on March 14.
  • The investigation began six months ago with the arrest of a local individual, leading to the discovery of an international drug network involving air routes between Delhi and Bengaluru.
  • The suspects were found with MDMA concealed in trolley bags, along with mobile phones, forged passports, and ₹18,000 in cash.
  • Authorities are continuing to investigate the larger international network behind the drug trade, which allegedly supplied narcotics to Nigerian peddlers in the region.
