Karnataka Opens Kalaloka GI Store at Bengaluru Airport, With International Outlet Planned

The high-traffic Terminal 2 location is meant to give Karnataka’s GI‑tagged goods instant visibility with domestic and overseas travelers.

  • Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated Kalaloka at Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 2 on November 11.
  • The domestic-bay store spans 132 square metres and is designed to reflect Karnataka’s culture and heritage.
  • Officials said a second outlet is set to open in the international departure area, covering about 140 square metres.
  • The retail space brings together 45 GI‑certified products, including Mysore sandal soap, Mysuru silk, Channapatna toys, Bidriware, coffee, and handloom goods.
  • State-backed entities KSDL, Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation, KSIC, LIDKAR, and the Coffee Board are supporting the initiative.
