Karnataka Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar Injured in Car Accident While Avoiding Dog
The Minister and her brother sustained minor injuries after their vehicle struck a tree on a highway near Belagavi early Tuesday morning.
- The accident occurred at around 6 AM near Ambadagatti village in Kittur Taluk, Belagavi district, on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway.
- The driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid a dog crossing the road, causing the car to crash into a tree.
- Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar sustained minor injuries to her face, back, and leg, while her brother, MLC Channaraj Hattiholi, suffered injuries to his face and upper body.
- The airbags in the Toyota Innova HyCross deployed, significantly reducing the severity of injuries for all passengers, including the driver and the Minister's gunman.
- Both Hebbalkar and Hattiholi are under medical care at Vijaya Hospital and are expected to be discharged within two days.
