Karnataka Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar Injured in Car Accident While Avoiding Dog

The Minister and her brother sustained minor injuries after their vehicle struck a tree on a highway near Belagavi early Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred at around 6 AM near Ambadagatti village in Kittur Taluk, Belagavi district, on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway.
The driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid a dog crossing the road, causing the car to crash into a tree.
Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar sustained minor injuries to her face, back, and leg, while her brother, MLC Channaraj Hattiholi, suffered injuries to his face and upper body.
The airbags in the Toyota Innova HyCross deployed, significantly reducing the severity of injuries for all passengers, including the driver and the Minister's gunman.
Both Hebbalkar and Hattiholi are under medical care at Vijaya Hospital and are expected to be discharged within two days.
