Karnataka Man Dies in Explosive Suicide Outside Minor Girl's Home

The 21-year-old detonated a gelatin stick after the girl's family rejected his advances, following prior legal action under POCSO.

A 21-year-old man in Mandya district, Karnataka, died by detonating a gelatin stick outside the home of a minor girl he had been pursuing.
The man, identified as Ramachandra, had previously been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and spent time in jail after eloping with the girl.
After his release, a settlement was reached between the families, but the girl's family later rejected his attempts to rekindle the relationship and planned her marriage to someone else upon reaching legal age.
Ramachandra, reportedly distressed by the rejection, consumed alcohol before carrying out the act early Sunday morning in Kalenahalli village.
Authorities are investigating how Ramachandra accessed the gelatin, which is typically used in quarrying, and have registered a case of suspicious death based on a complaint from his family.
