  • On July 9, Karnataka’s IT/BT minister Priyank Kharge and Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffey signed a declaration under the Global Innovation Alliance.
  • The agreement creates frameworks for startup exchanges, soft-landing support and market access between Bengaluru and Berlin.
  • Collaboration will target fintech, artificial intelligence, digitalisation and life sciences to leverage each region’s technological strengths.
  • Special emphasis on women-led enterprises and green innovation will be backed by a joint steering committee and dedicated nodal points.
  • Berlin will open its third global representative business office in Bengaluru next year to promote bilateral trade and innovation.
