Karlsruhe Zoo Welcomes Healthy Polar Bear Cub

The four-month-old male cub underwent its first health check and will be visible to visitors in March after adjustments to its enclosure.

The Karlsruhe Zoo announced that its polar bear cub, born in November 2024, is a healthy male weighing 9.6 kilograms.
During its first health check, the cub was vaccinated, dewormed, and fitted with a microchip for identification.
The cub, described as strong and active, was reunited with its mother, Nuka, shortly after the brief examination.
Zoo officials plan to introduce the cub to visitors in March, following renovations to the polar bear enclosure and an adjustment period for the mother and cub.
This is Karlsruhe Zoo's first polar bear birth since 1991, highlighting its conservation efforts for the endangered species.
