Karlovy Vary Film Festival Opens with Viggo Mortensen and a Nostalgic 90s Tribute

The 58th edition of the festival features a mix of retrospectives, new films, and tributes to cinema icons.

Viggo Mortensen received the KVIFF President’s Award and presented his film 'The Dead Don’t Hurt'.
The festival commemorates 30 years under Jiří Bartoška’s leadership with a retrospective of the 1990s.
Special guests include Clive Owen, Daniel Brühl, Steven Soderbergh, and Nicole Holofcener.
The event also features a Kafka retrospective and honors casting director Francine Maisler.
Ukrainian filmmaker Oleh Sentsov premiered his documentary 'Real' at the festival.
