Karachi Water Supply To Dip By About 100 Million Gallons During Dhabeji Maintenance Today

Officials call the shutdown routine maintenance, urging residents to store water.

Overview

  • K-Electric scheduled a 12-hour shutdown at the Dhabeji Substation and Grid Station today from 8am to 8pm, pausing power to several feeders that run the Dhabeji pumping station.
  • KWSC estimates the temporary power cut will trim roughly 100 million gallons from Karachi’s normal daily supply of about 650 million gallons.
  • Approximately 550 million gallons are still expected to be delivered citywide during the maintenance window, according to the utility.
  • Areas likely to face low pressure or delays include Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, DHA, Chanesar Town, Jinnah Town, North Nazimabad, and Gulberg Town.
  • The water utility has advised households to store water in advance and conserve use until full operations resume after the scheduled work.
