Overview
- Heavy traffic is barred daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm under orders in effect from December 23, 2025, through February 22, 2026, issued by Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi.
- Designated corridors keep goods moving: Super Highway to New Karachi Industrial Area; National Highway via Godam, Younis and Dawood Chowrangi to Jam Sadiq Bridge; Northern Bypass to Paracha/Siemens, Gulbai and Mauripur for Karachi Port; Link Road Kathore to Sassi Toll Plaza.
- A complete prohibition applies to the Super Highway–to–Mauripur route via Jinnah Avenue during the restricted period.
- Vehicles carrying essential supplies such as water, edible oil, oxygen, medical gases, meat and medical items are exempt; dumpers with approved trackers are permitted within industrial zones under monitoring.
- Police and traffic authorities are empowered to register cases under Section 188 PPC, seize violating vehicles and maintain citywide enforcement to ensure compliance.
