Overview

  • Three earthquakes measuring 3.2, 3.6 and 3.2 struck Karachi within 24 hours on June 2, the Pakistan Meteorological Department reported.
  • The tremors were centered in Gadap and Quaidabad and were felt across Khokhrapar, Malir, Landhi, Future Mor, Gul Ahmed and Hospital Chowrangi.
  • Officials confirmed no injuries or structural damage resulted from the latest series of low-magnitude jolts.
  • This activity follows a recent spate of at least three magnitude-4+ quakes last week and about 20 tremors recorded in February.
  • Seismologists say recurring low-intensity events may release built-up tectonic stress and help avert larger earthquakes.
