Kansas City Man Sentenced to 22 Years for Shooting Teen in Anti-LGBTQ Hate Crime

Malachi Robinson shot and wounded a 16-year-old boy eight times in 2019 because of the victim's sexual orientation.
Robinson suggested they go into a wooded area to engage in a sex act, but when the teenager changed his mind and tried to leave, Robinson shot him.
The victim spent two weeks in the hospital, underwent multiple surgeries, and still has bullets inside of him.
Robinson pleaded guilty in July to violating federal hate crime laws.
