Kansas City Chiefs Legend Ed Budde Passes Away at 83

Budde Remembered for His Impact on Chiefs, Unique Father-Son NFL Legacy, and Community Involvement

Ed Budde, a former Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman and Super Bowl IV champion, has passed away at the age of 83.
Budde spent his entire 14-year career with the Chiefs, and was a cornerstone of the early Chiefs teams that brought professional football to Kansas City.
He was a five-time AFL All-Star and was chosen to two Pro Bowls once the league merged with the NFL.
Budde and his son, Brad Budde, remain the only father-son duo to be first-round picks by the same NFL franchise.
After his playing career, Budde remained active in the Kansas City community, serving as the longtime president of the Kansas City chapter of the NFL Alumni organization.
