Kannada Actor Darshan Granted Bail in Renukaswamy Murder Case
The Karnataka High Court approved bail for Darshan Thoogudeepa and eight co-accused, five months after their arrest for the alleged murder of Renukaswamy.
- Darshan Thoogudeepa, Pavithra Gowda, and seven others were granted bail by the Karnataka High Court in the Renukaswamy murder case on Friday.
- The actor and his co-accused were arrested in June 2024 after Renukaswamy, a fan of Pavithra Gowda, was found dead in a Bengaluru drain following allegations of harassment.
- Darshan, the primary accused, allegedly confessed to orchestrating the victim's kidnapping and assault in retaliation for lewd messages sent to Gowda.
- The court had previously granted interim bail to Darshan in October for medical reasons, which was later extended to facilitate his back surgery.
- Renukaswamy’s family expressed faith in the judiciary, stating their belief that justice will ultimately be served despite the bail decision.
