Kangana Ranaut’s ₹1 Lakh Electricity Bill Dispute Draws Official Rebuttal and Political Clashes

Kangana Ranaut alleged receiving a ₹1 lakh electricity bill for her unoccupied Manali home, calling it evidence of mismanagement by the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government.
The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) clarified that the bill of ₹90,384 includes overdue payments and normal consumption for January and February 2025.
HPSEBL also revealed that Kangana has a history of delayed payments, with earlier dues for October to December 2024 cleared only in January 2025.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu dismissed Kangana's remarks, stating he does not take her statements seriously.
Congress leaders criticized Kangana's claims as baseless and aimed at generating media attention, urging her to address billing concerns through official channels.
