Kanchanjunga Express to Run With LHB Coaches From November 28, NFR Confirms

Overview

• Northeast Frontier Railway said the train’s conventional ICF rake will be replaced by an LHB set starting November 28, 2025, according to CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma.
• The new composition includes five AC 3-tier coaches, one AC 2-tier coach, nine sleeper-class coaches and four general seating coaches.
• LHB coaches feature an anti-telescopic design that reduces collision impact, enhancing passenger safety.
• Passengers are expected to experience improved comfort through advanced suspension systems and interiors designed for higher operational speed potential.
• The service continues on its Sealdah–Sabroom and Sealdah–Silchar routes as part of Indian Railways’ rolling-stock modernisation with no reported changes to operations.
