Kamworor, Marta García Win Vallecana as San Silvestre Races Draw Crowds Nationwide

Dozens of city editions reported participation highs with well-run, costume-filled races.

  • Madrid’s 61st Nationale-Nederlanden San Silvestre Vallecana drew about 42,000 runners, with Geoffrey Kamworor winning in 27:40 and Marta García repeating with a 31:11 race record.
  • A Coruña’s Oysho San Silvestre neared 7,000 participants as Pablo Bocelo Bellas and Uxía Pérez Bugarín won the 7.5 km; San Sebastián set a local best with 5,468 finishers, topped by Iraitz Arrospide (21:45) and Fernanda Fleischmann (25:59).
  • Murcia’s 6.5 km edition gathered roughly 5,000 participants, won by Miguel Alcaraz and Marta Martínez, with police, volunteers, four ambulances and a field hospital on duty.
  • Córdoba changed its 10 km route, drew more than 1,800 runners and crowned David Palacio (29:02) and Nazha Machrouh (31:40).
  • Other major turnouts and local champions included Avilés (~3,200; Abel Rodríguez and Paula Herrero), Cáceres (5,280; Juan José Márquez and Alba Holguín), Toledo (>5,000; Adrián Villa and Silvia Rey), Palencia (wins for Daniel Hernando and María Viciosa) and Segovia (record 2,803 entries; titles for Alejandro Domingo and Claudia Corral).
