Kamchatka Registers 14 Aftershocks as Agencies Note Separate Moderate Quakes Worldwide

The region remains under a disaster emergency with heightened volcano monitoring following the July 30 M8.8 earthquake.

  • A M5.2 quake was registered near the northern Kurils at 23 km depth and felt up to intensity 3 in Severo-Kurilsk with no tsunami warning, while a M5.5 event struck northern Pakistan 43.6 km southeast of Afghanistan’s Khāndūd at 10 km depth without reported damage.
