A 30-year-old residential building in Kalyan East suffered a catastrophic slab collapse, killing six and injuring several others, with authorities now investigating unauthorized construction work as the cause.

The debris fell through to the ground floor. One senior citizen woman has been rescued so far. KDMC’s fire brigade and disaster management teams are on site, and rescue operations are ongoing.
