  • Authorities in Vietnam said over 268,000 soldiers were mobilised and more than 537,000 residents were evacuated from flood- and landslide-prone areas.
  • In the Philippines, officials confirmed 188 dead and 135 missing, with Cebu the hardest hit, after flash floods and landslides displaced over 560,000 people and sent nearly 450,000 to shelters.
  • Kalmaegi was an unusually strong November storm, with sustained winds near 183 km/h and gusts up to 220 km/h, and forecasters warned some areas could receive up to 600 mm of rain.
