Overview
- The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will restart on June 30, 2025, following a five-year pause caused by the pandemic and India-China border tensions.
- For the first time, the Indian portion of the route will be entirely road-accessible, made possible by the completion of the Tawaghat–Lipulekh road in 2022.
- A total of 250 pilgrims will participate in the 22-day journey, organized in groups of 50, with applications expected to open in the coming weeks.
- The itinerary includes stops in Delhi, Tanakpur, Dharchula, and Gunji, where a two-day acclimatization period is planned before crossing into China on July 10.
- The pilgrimage is being coordinated by the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN), with health screenings and logistical preparations underway to ensure a safe and smooth experience.
