K-pop Group NewJeans Rebrands as NJZ Amid Legal Dispute with Former Label

The group announced their new name and upcoming performance at ComplexCon Hong Kong as they navigate a legal battle with ADOR and HYBE.

NewJeans, now rebranded as NJZ, revealed their new name following their contract termination with ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE, in November 2024.
NJZ will debut their new identity and perform a new song at ComplexCon Hong Kong from March 21-23, marking their first major event since leaving ADOR.
The group has accused ADOR of contract breaches, mistreatment, and workplace harassment, while the label disputes these claims and insists the contracts remain valid until 2029.
ADOR has filed lawsuits and injunctions to validate the contracts and prevent NJZ from signing independent advertising deals, with court hearings scheduled for March and April 2025.
NJZ members have expressed excitement about their new artistic direction, emphasizing bolder fashion and performance styles while maintaining a connection to their past as NewJeans.
