K-9 Recovers After Suspect Allegedly Tried to Drown Dog in Harris County Chase

  • Deputies entered the water to help detain Crofton, who was taken to a hospital for treatment of the bite.
  • Authorities said Crofton had open warrants for injury to a child and interfering with 911 services, with new charges to include evading arrest and interfering with a service animal.
  • K-9 Ghost was found unconscious, regained consciousness after on-scene care, was taken to a veterinary clinic as a precaution, and is expected to be OK, with no deputies reported injured.
