• An anonymous tip to Menlo-Atherton’s See Something, Say Something line reported threats by a former student now enrolled at a nearby high school, triggering Secure Campus orders at M-A, Carlmont, Laurel’s lower campus, Encinal, and two Menlo Park City School District sites.
• Atherton police located and detained the identified juvenile on Wednesday and placed the individual in a medical facility for psychiatric issues rather than making an arrest.
• Police initially were unsure whether the posts targeted Menlo-Atherton or Carlmont, so Belmont police requested Carlmont’s Secure Campus as a precaution until the target was confirmed.
