- Speaking at a NALSA–KeLSA conference in Thiruvananthapuram, Justice Vikram Nath quipped that the case brought him recognition worldwide and thanked CJI BR Gavai for assigning it.

- On August 22, the three-judge bench led by Justice Nath modified the August 11 directive by ordering sterilisation, deworming and vaccination with release to original areas, except for rabid or aggressive dogs.
- The modified order restricted feeding in public places to designated zones and directed municipalities to create such spaces in every ward.
- The bench issued notices to all states and Union Territories, transferred related High Court matters to the Supreme Court, and indicated it will work toward a national policy on stray dogs.
