Overview

• A Home Office pathologist testified that Rebekah Campbell sustained 27 knife injuries, including 18 stab wounds, with fatal damage to her heart and a punctured lung.
• CCTV and phone evidence placed Michael Ormandy at the Knowsley Heights block minutes before the attack, including an audio message asking, “Am I your fella or not?”.
• Police bodycam recorded Campbell saying, “He just walked in and stabbed me,” while emergency-room efforts later failed and she died at Aintree Hospital shortly after midnight.
• Friend Faye Henderson called 999 as she heard Campbell screaming during the assault, and Ormandy phoned 112 claiming he stabbed in self-defence.
• Earlier that evening Ormandy was seen leaving a Southport hotel, and a woman testified they had cocktails and sex there hours before the killing.
