Jupiter Power Closes $1.4 Billion to Build Ten Grid-Scale Battery Projects

The package mobilizes major bank and institutional capital to fund construction in fast-growing Texas and Michigan storage markets.

Overview

  • Jupiter Power completed four coordinated financings that together provide $1.4 billion to develop ten utility-scale battery energy storage systems totaling 1,500 MW and 3,600 MWh.
  • The transactions, which closed between April and July 2026, combined senior secured construction loans, tax-equity bridge facilities, and a U.S. private placement rated BBB- by Kroll Bond Rating Agency.
  • Major banks and institutional investors participated as arrangers, lenders or note purchasers, including HSBC Bank USA, SMBC, ING Capital, Societe Generale, MUFG, AB CarVal, Nuveen, and Barclays.
  • The deals raise Jupiter Power’s total financings since inception to more than $3 billion and support a platform with 5.6 GW (19.7 GWh) operating, in construction, or under contract plus roughly 23 GW in development.
  • The financing backs new capacity in ERCOT and MISO where rapid battery deployment is changing operations by helping grid operators balance variable wind and solar generation and by creating local construction and operations jobs.
