Jupiter Opens First Municipal Fire Station on U.S. 1

Overview

• Jupiter plans to open a second new station, the Cinquez facility, the day after Station 10’s dedication and will continue to staff and outfit both stations through the summer.
• The town council is moving to adopt the Florida Fire Prevention Code and Uniform Fire Safety Standards so the local fire marshal can enforce state rules, with a required second reading of the ordinance pending.
• Town leaders say the shift away from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue aims to cut costs and speed response times, and the town expects its full municipal fire rescue service to begin operations on Oct. 1.
