Overview

  • Mexico’s meteorological service reported Juliette about 705 km south-southwest of Cabo San Lucas, moving west-northwest near 20 km/h with sustained winds around 65 km/h.
  • Forecasters expect Juliette to strengthen through Tuesday before a weakening trend begins on Wednesday, according to guidance cited by the National Hurricane Center.
  • Fernand, which formed on Saturday in the Atlantic, is positioned well east of Bermuda and is forecast to turn northeast on a path that keeps it over open water.
  • The National Hurricane Center says neither storm poses an immediate threat to land and no coastal advisories have been issued.
  • Mexico’s weather agency warned of 1.5 to 2.5 meter seas along the southern coast of Baja California Sur and urged caution for beachgoers and maritime navigation.
