Julia Roberts, who played Vivian Ward in the iconic 1990 rom-com 'Pretty Woman', has speculated on the fate of her co-star Richard Gere's character, Edward Lewis. She believes he passed away peacefully in his sleep from a heart attack, and that Vivian now runs his business.
There will not be a sequel to 'Pretty Woman', as director Gary Marshall, who passed away in 2016, had made a pact with the stars that they would only do a sequel if they all did it together.
Some consider the 1999 film 'Runaway Bride', which reunited Roberts and Gere, as a sort of sequel to 'Pretty Woman', even though it tells a different story.
Roberts also speculated on the fate of her 'Runaway Bride' characters, joking that unlike in 'Pretty Woman', Gere's character does not die in this one.
Roberts has recently been reflecting on her past roles and has expressed interest in revisiting her 1997 film 'My Best Friend’s Wedding' for a sequel.
