Overview
- The regular ferry link between Norddeich and Juist is suspended and the operator says normal service will resume on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
- Since Sunday smaller island‑express boats have been used as replacements but Reederei Frisia reports those boats are nearly fully booked and cannot carry all passengers.
- Deutsche Bahn warned that crossings between Wangerooge and Harlesiel may see cancellations through Wednesday, and Nordseebad Spiekeroog GmbH is consolidating Spiekeroog sailings because of low water and a repair to the fast ferry WattnExpress.
- Operators are urging travelers to check live schedules online, coordinate with hotels and avoid unplanned travel to boarding points because capacity is limited and timetables can change at short notice.
- Low water in the Wadden Sea happens when strong east winds push water offshore, restricting access to shallow channels and leaving other islands such as Norderney, Borkum, Baltrum and Langeoog unaffected for now.
