• On June 28 at Playa de Los Toros, a speedboat driven by a friend struck the jet ski carrying Debra Wright, 43.
• Wright, a passenger and wife of Ashton Town FC chairman Chris Wright, was pronounced dead after emergency crews from the Guardia Civil and Salvamento Marítima responded.
• Guardia Civil investigators found the driver had tested positive for alcohol and released him under investigation for involuntary manslaughter.
