Judge Revokes Morgan Geyser’s Conditional Release, Orders Return to State Custody

The action follows her November escape after cutting off a GPS monitor from a Madison group home.

Overview

  • Geyser appeared by video Tuesday as Waukesha County Judge K. Scott Wagner granted the Department of Health Services’ petition to revoke her release.
  • Her attorney confirmed she would not contest the petition, and the judge accepted her waiver during a brief hearing of about 10 minutes.
  • The court ordered Geyser back into inpatient DHS custody, with transport and specific placement kept under seal.
  • Authorities say she removed her ankle monitor on Nov. 22, left the group home, took a bus toward Chicago, and was arrested the next day in Posen, Illinois with 43-year-old Chad Mecca.
  • Geyser had been conditionally released to the Madison-area group home earlier this year after years of treatment following the 2014 stabbing tied to the Slender Man case.
