Judge Releases Two Charged in Chicago Power-Tool Burglary Spree After Police Chase

A judge granted their release with conditions pending a Dec. 24 court date.

  • Authorities link the suspects to four incidents in which power tools were taken from vehicles on Nov. 4 and Dec. 17 at locations on West Nelson, North Lawndale, North Greenview and West Wellington.
  • Officials report a roughly 20-mile pursuit ended when the stolen car crashed into a building and gate in the 7100 block of South Kedvale Avenue in West Lawn, and three occupants fled before being taken into custody.
  • A 16-year-old also faces charges in the case, victims reported hundreds of dollars in losses and vehicle damage, and the two men were ordered to comply with geographic and no-contact restrictions before their next hearing on Dec. 24.
