Judge Orders Varsity Blues Mastermind to Disclose Convictions to Resume Consulting

The ruling requires ID Future Stars to post a full account of Singer's 2019 Varsity Blues convictions on his website.

Rick Singer, who helped stars like Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin fraudulently get their kids into good universities, can return to work if he informs clients about his criminal past.

Overview

  • On July 14, Chief District Judge Denise Casper granted Singer permission to resume college consulting under strict disclosure conditions.
  • The court-mandated notice must outline Singer’s guilty plea to racketeering conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy, conspiracy to defraud the United States and obstruction of justice.
  • Singer is also obligated to provide a written copy of the disclosure to every prospective parent or student before they engage his services.
  • Initial inspections indicate the required notice had not appeared on the ID Future Stars website as of mid-July.
  • The U.S. District Court in Boston will maintain oversight of Singer’s supervised release and enforce his transparency obligations.
