Judge Orders UCO Report on Meetings Linked to Begoña Gómez’s UCM Chair

The move seeks analysis of a contractor dossier in a probe over possible misuse of public resources tied to the university project.

Overview

  • Judge Juan Carlos Peinado instructed the Guardia Civil’s UCO to draft a report based on documentation submitted by Making Science about meetings related to the chair’s software.
  • Making Science’s dossier lists roughly twenty meetings from April 2022 to February 2024, recording attendance by Begoña Gómez and noting participation by company representatives including Google executives.
  • The company places Moncloa official Cristina Álvarez at three technical sessions: an online meeting on January 11, 2023 with Lefebvre and Deloitte, a remote meeting with Flat101, and an in‑person meeting on February 7, 2024 at Making Science’s Madrid office.
  • After the February 2024 meeting, Making Science says it sent a budget for a proposed second phase of the project and received no response from the chair’s management.
  • The judge also asked other collaborating firms to provide agendas and minutes as part of an inquiry that includes alleged malversación and examines whether an official’s role was used for private benefit.
