Overview

• Prosecutors accuse Gustavo “B” of cocaine and meth distribution, cannabis dealing, and possession of firearms reserved for the military.
• He was arrested on September 29 in Tlajomulco, Jalisco, in a coordinated operation involving SEDENA, SEMAR, the FGR, the National Guard, the SSPC, the CNI, and Guanajuato authorities.
• Authorities say he serves as the operational head of La Barredora in the Bajío with presumed ties to the CJNG, and reporting notes a parallel bloc under Hernán Bermúdez in Tabasco.
• During the raid, officers seized three handguns, a long gun, 116 rounds, eight magazines, doses of marijuana, crystal meth and cocaine, a gas grenade, and multiple phones and tablets.
• The judge indicated that a woman detained with him, identified as Edith Cárdenas, was not linked to the alleged crimes and could be released.
