Judge Orders SPAL’s Liquidation and Puts Club Brand Up for Auction

  • On August 6, Judge Anna Ghedini declared SPAL Srl bankrupt and appointed a curator to oversee judicial liquidation
  • The club’s historic name, crest and related assets have been placed on the auction block to raise funds for creditors
  • SPAL faces over €10 million in liabilities owed to about 70 creditors, including players claiming roughly €1.2 million in unpaid wages and other staff arrears
  • Creditors’ claims will be examined at a passive-state hearing scheduled for December 11 after an early November submission deadline
  • Successor organization Ars et Labor has registered for the amateur Eccellenza division but cannot use SPAL’s historic identity or branding
