Overview
- Inspector Carlos José Queiroz Viana, 59, was shot dead outside his home in Piratininga on Monday in what investigators describe as a premeditated ambush captured on CCTV.
- Three suspects were arrested hours later in Xerém: Mayck Junior Pfister Pedro and military police cabos Fábio de Oliveira Ramos (3º BPM) and Felipe Ramos Noronha (15º BPM).
- Forensic analysis found that two of the three seized pistols (two 9mm and one .40) were fired in the attack, and the weapons were sent for broader ballistic comparison.
- A white Onix with cloned plates used in the crime was tracked over the Rio–Niterói Bridge, skipped the toll, and was later found burned; the trio was detained nearby fleeing in a stolen Jeep Compass, with phones and license plates recovered.
- Police are examining the seized devices and plates and pursuing leads on whether the suspects belong to a group that carries out executions, noting the detainees declined to give statements.
