• Quebec prosecutors have charged the 34-year-old mother with criminal negligence causing bodily harm and unlawful abandonment of her three-year-old daughter.
• On July 11 a court ordered a 30-day psychiatric assessment following a denied bail application, and Judge Mylène Grégoire ruled on Aug. 8 that it must be extended.
• A four-day search by Ontario Provincial Police and volunteers located the dehydrated toddler alive near Highway 417 on June 18 without issuing an Amber Alert.
• A publication ban protects both the accused’s and the child’s identities throughout the legal proceedings.
• The accused will remain in the Montreal psychiatric hospital and return to Quebec court on Sept. 8 to revisit bail conditions.
