Judge Orders 12-Week Hospital Stay for UK Man Convicted of Stalking U.S. Influencer

The judge acted on two psychiatrists' recommendations to obtain a forensic assessment before deciding sentence.

Overview

  • Rob Keating, 40, was convicted at Portsmouth Crown Court of two counts of stalking involving fear of violence against American travel influencer Alexandra Saper.
  • Hampshire Constabulary said he sent hundreds of emails and about 30 videos, including threats to kidnap and rape and a photo of a body in a suitcase.
  • Police reported he presented evidence of flights and a visa to Indonesia, shared photos from Bali locations she frequented, and was seen near her address before she fled.
  • He was arrested at Gatwick Airport on March 6, 2023, then arrested again on November 11, 2024 after renewed contact that included a "Round Two" post about flights to Bali.
  • Defence counsel Stephen Garbett questioned the risk assessment given the charges, as the court set a further hearing for February 13, 2026 to review the hospital assessment.
